Course Aim:
The course will enable participants to understand the neurodiverse spectrum, appreciating that each individual will have their own combination of positive and negative impacts in life and work. It will consider the potential opportunities for neurodiverse staff and the barriers created by working in a 'traditional' working culture. Participants will consider how workplace adjustments can be used to lower these barriers.

To enable participants to:
- Understand a framework for the Neurodiverse - Neurodivergent spectrum
- Understand common presentations of various types:
- Autism
- ADHD
- Dyslexia
- Dyscalculia
- Dyspraxia
- Tourette Syndrome - Consider workplace opportunities/ advantages and barriers for neurodivergent people
- Appreciate the impact on mental/ physical wellbeing
- Plan workplace adjustments for supporting neurodivergent staff
- The tools to build a better wellbeing culture for their team/ the organisation as a whole
Course Overview:
This is an interactive course using video case study material and active exercises to explore the issues in a lively and engaging way.
It has 3 elements:
- Individual Preparation – web-based videos / succinct documents prepare staff for Group Sessions
- Group Session – 1-day, facilitated group experience.
- Individual Consolidation - web-based electronic handbook, videos/documents.
The Individual Preparation videos introduce participants to a fictional character, who we return to throughout the Group Session, creating a deeper understanding of the human impact of non-inclusive workplace cultures.
The last section explores how all staff can help lower some of the barriers for neurodiverse staff and create an inclusive environment that will benefit everyone.
