Course Aim:
The session is suitable for organisations of all sizes. In particular, Micro organisations who may be new to environmental thinking and have no prior experience in this field.
It aims to provide an overview of the terms and terminology of Net Zero and Carbon Reduction, whilst providing a background and history to Climate Change. An overview of practical tools to drive resource efficiency leading to the organisations reduction in its carbon footprint.
Target Audience:
All those involved in implementing a Net Zero strategy in the organisation.
Those who are responsible for driving environmental efficiency improvements in their organisation, whilst engaging their employees and their supply chains in carbon reduction activities.
Those involved in reporting on Net Zero to internal and external stakeholders or have responsibility for preparing and communicating a Carbon Reduction plan or carbon footprint assessment.
Course Objectives:
To raise awareness of the urgency of the underlying climate science driving the net zero agenda.
An introduction to the main policy contexts for responding to the climate crisis including the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and Welsh Government.
Discussion on the main business environmental aspects which have impacts on the environment and sustainability.
To raise the level of understanding on what carbon neutral means for an organisations, including its products and services and the environmental benefits of low-carbon goods and services.
To provide an awareness of the risks and opportunities of net zero, including discussion on how to improve environmental performance.
To raise awareness of the drivers for change and barriers to overcome when implementing resource efficiency and how to engage employees in improve environmental performance
To provide improved understanding of how to measure baselines data in order to monitor and improve performance.
Understand the process of completing a carbon footprint assessment.
