Course Aim

The aim of this course is to help all leaders and managers feel that they are enabling people to give their best. This is especially important now, when hybrid working is creating new opportunities and challenges for the way we work. Vital in achieving this is recognising and utilising the diversity within the team – not just the characteristics protected by the Equality Act (race, gender, disability, etc.), but the whole range of human characteristics, including ways of thinking and communicating, personal history and circumstances.

Target Audience

This course is for leaders and managers who play a crucial part in building and maintaining culture. The programme will give them the skills, confidence and tools to do this effectively.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the diverse characteristics within their own team.
    • Identify and reflect on their own strengths as an inclusive leader.
    • Explore behaviours and practices that support or discourage inclusion.
    • Develop a practical toolkit for creating inclusive team environments.
    • Create an action plan to apply learning and nurture the potential of their team

Course Overview

Individual Preparation – Participants watch short introductory videos (including an introduction to the programme and unconscious bias) to explore key concepts and prepare for the group session.

Group Session – An in-person session combining relevant theory, experiential and drama-based learning activities, and group discussion.

Individual Consolidation – Participants access an electronic handbook, additional video resources, and a peer-supported action plan to help embed learning into their day-to-day work.
